Have we placed too much emphasis as a society, especially highlighted on social media on the "visible metrics" such as the material possessions we own or the suburb or the house we live in?
Has this emphasis been at the expense of the less visible or "soft metrics" that contribute to true happiness?
Studies like the Harvard Study of Adult Development https://www.adultdevelopmentstudy.org/ show that these " soft metrics" such as strong social connections, consistent focus on physical and mental well-being, meaningful relationships, and pursuing what is meaningful for you, is what significantly contributes to a person's happiness and longevity.
Even if our goals are about creating wealth, research shows the true fulfillment lies in the chase or the pursuit and the challenge , not in the destination when you arrive and understanding this distinction is critical to happiness.
For me, that's the "WHY" behind the Step into Action movement, building a community that fosters mental well being, where movement, , connection and meaningful pursuit of the " soft metrics" are where we can build your best and most fulfilling life.
